Stress Relief Trip

I've been very stressed lately as some issues happened with Nom-Com that wasn't nice. So as a stress relief I bundled up this morning with Bible, Bird Book, scope, and Binoculars.

67. Red-winged Blackbird -- Standifer Gap Marsh

The shock of the day took me 30 minutes to believe what my gut told me on first glance. A Tree Swallow over Amicola Marsh. What are Tree Swallows doing here at this time of year. Crazy birds they should be several hundred miles south of here.

68. Tree Swallow

Also, seen was the Red-throated Loon that's been hanging out all winter at the fishing dock at Booker T Washington State park off Hwy 58. It was really close to the shore and spent a lot of time looking me over with an earie eye as if to say, "The moment I don't trust you I'll be out of sight." There were Hooded Mergansers on the Amicola Marsh too.

I'll be in Cleveland, TN latter this week so I'll try to swing out to the Wildlife Refuge and see the Whooping Cranes and hopefully a commorant and the bald eagles, snow goose, etc. If I don't see them now it'll probably have to wait til late fall or early winter when they migrate back through.

Canvasback

62. Canvasback (Ft Oglethorpe) There is a great 16 acre pond on the road just opposite (south of) Lowes. I've stopped by before but had all the ducks that were on it until today. Spent 5 minutes total as I was running short on time. When I have time I'll go back for a longer look cause I think I might have a lesser scaup

Also on the pond were:
Malards, Gadwalls, Ring-necked Ducks, Canada Goose, American Coots, Ring-billed gulls, and more.
